Celebrity to Restart from U.S. Homeport; Royal Caribbean Given CDC Approval for Test Cruises (VIDEO)
It's the news we've all been waiting for! After more than a year, Celebrity Edge will return to service from Fort Lauderdale starting June 26 -- making it the first ship to sail out of an American homeport since this pandemic began.
Plus, the CDC has given Royal Caribbean the green light to carry out the first test cruise ahead of Celebrity Edge's resumption. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention gave the line approval to conduct a simulated cruise onboard Freedom of the Seas from June 20 to 22, sailing from Miami, as part of the CDC's Conditional Sail Order (CSO).
