The building truly is a sight to behold, and some of its basic facts can only be described as truly mind-boggling. However, the owners of the casino clearly didn’t think that this was sufficient, as the building contains its very own 18-hole golf course. There’s no doubt about it, every gambler and fun-lover should not hesitate to put the WinStar World Casino on their bucket list of places to visit.

#2 – The Venetian Macau

To find the second largest casino in the world, we must head to the Chinese region of Macau. This former Portuguese colony is often referred to as the ‘gambling capital of the world’, with gambling comprising 50% of its economic activity. Located on the Cotai Strip in Macau, The Venetian is truly a sight to behold. To try and put the scale of this place into perspective, this colossal building is not only the second largest casino in the world, but it’s also the 7th largest building in the world by floor space! Opened in 2007, The Venetian is a staggering 39 stories tall and is 10,500,000 square feet in size. The building regularly plays host to a number of high-profile sporting and music events over the years. In addition, this mammoth structure also houses a variety of restaurants and boutique shops, so there really is something for everyone in the second largest casino in the world. 

#3 – MGM Cotai

Opened in 2018, MGM Cotai serves as the flagship casino for MGM Resorts International in the gambling utopia of Macau. Constructed at an eye-watering cost of $3.4 billion, MGM Cotai offers a casino sized at 500,000 square feet containing every machine and game imaginable. However, that only begins to scratch the surface of what this place has to offer, as there are a whole host of different spas, entertainment venues and art exhibitions for patrons to enjoy. Funnily enough, MGM Cotai wasn’t opened with just multi-millionaires in mind, as all tourists are encouraged to come and enjoy all that the third largest casino in the world has to offer.

#4 – City of Dreams

There’s something of a theme emerging, as a trip to the fourth largest casino in the world will find you returning to Macau once more for the City of Dreams resort. The City of Dreams is located directly opposite to The Venetian, so this part of the world can definitely be considered as a gambler’s paradise! City of Dreams is so much more than just another casino, as it houses numerous luxury hotels, spas, art exhibits and even a live water theatre. 

#5 – Wynn Palace

Nobody should be surprised to find out that the fifth largest casino in the world is located on Macau’s Cotai Strip.  Opened in 2016, Wynn Palace is a modern and sleek building that boasts 420,000 square feet of casino space. The 28-story hotel has over 1700 rooms, so chances are you will find a place to stay during your visit. In addition, whilst Wynn Palace offers fewer games and tables than some of the other casinos in their vicinity, this works in their favour, as the environment within their casino tends to be less frenetic than within some of the others. 

The Virtual Experience 

Whilst visiting any one of these casinos would be a truly incredible experience, it should be acknowledged that some of us simply don’t enjoy the stress and hassle associated with traveling. There once was a time when the only place that you could enjoy your favorite games was in a casino itself, but those days have now been consigned to the history books.
