There’s great shopping here, together with some of the best bars and restaurants in the city, but La Rambla is perfect for combining a little bit of everything. There’s entertainment on every corner, including musicians, jugglers and some incredibly lifelike human statues.

Elsewhere, you can literally get lost in Barcelona’s outdoor spaces at the Parc del Laberint d’Horta. This park features an intricate maze, along with acres of lush greenery.

For a change of scenery, many visitors like to head to the city’s port. The Port of Barcelona has been operational for thousands of years, and tourists can pass a peaceful hour or two as they watch the boats come and go.

Food and Drink

Reviews of food and drink outlets will always be subjective, and it’s unlikely that one specific location will make it onto anyone’s bucket list. However, there are certain local delicacies that you simply must try before leaving the city. Barcelona is home to that delicious and iconic national drink, Sangria. A combination of red wine, fruit, and brandy, it’s a perfect accompaniment to most meals, or it can be enjoyed in isolation on a summer’s day.
