US CDC: SAFE TO TRAVEL if You're Vaccinated

The Centers for Disease Control updated it’s travel guidance today. People who are fully vaccinated with an FDA-authorized vaccine can travel safely within the United States. Fully vaccinated travelers do not need to get tested before or after travel unless their destination requires it. Fully vaccinated travelers do not need to self-quarantine.

For international travel - Fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to get and spread COVID-19. However, international travel poses additional risks and even fully vaccinated travelers are at increased risk for getting and possibly spreading new COVID-19 variants.

Fully vaccinated Americans that choose to travel internationally do need to receive a negative Covid-19 test before boarding the flight back to the U.S. and should get another test three to five days after returning.

For people who haven’t been fully vaccinated, the CDC is sticking to its recommendation to avoid unnecessary travel.

Hawaii has a “Vaccine Passport” in the works that is rumored to be targeted to Mid-May -- but I bet this announcement will give the Hawaii government the shot of energy it really needs to get that done.

I predict this news will definitely drive up travel demand within the USA this summer. Currently 22% of Americans are vaccinated, and more and more every day. So if you’re planning a trip, now might very well be the time to book it!

While there might be a bunch of Americans traveling around this summer, it’s still murky about international visitors to the USA. Travel bans are still in effect for many countries including most of Europe. The current rumor mill is that Biden Administration is looking at June’ish to relax those travel bans, but the various strains popping up in Europe might change that answer.

And here in California.. Everything is pointing to more and more reopenings.. Theme Parks are finally allowed to reopen, restaurants have indoor dining.
