California Reopening Update: Indoor Dining is Back

Everything you need to know about California's reopening and current restrictions. About half of California including most of the San Francisco Bay Area, and Los A and Orange County) has moved in to the "red" tier, which allows restaurants, museums and movie theaters can reopen indoors, at 25 percent capacity or 100 people — whichever is fewer. Many restaurants are still staying closed... or still only open for takeout/outdoor dining. Bars that don’t serve food must remain closed... but breweries and distilleries will now be able to open outside,

We've got some new rules taking effect on April 1.

Theme Parks may reopen rides... but no out of state visitors to the theme parks. Most of the theme parks are currently doing some form of food festival (stay tuned for my Disneyland Video later this week). Knott's Berry Farm is targeting a May reopening date with rides. Disneyland and others are still TBD.

Outdoor events like Concerts and Sporting events can resume.

The California Department of Public Health recommends postponing travel and staying home, according to the agency’s updated travel advisory. Nonessential travelers from other states or countries are still discouraged from entering California

According to the California COVID website: Traveling into California for tourism or recreation is strongly discouraged. If you do travel into California, you should self-quarantine for 10 days after you arrive. I "expect" this to be lifted for the summer travel season.

Hotels are open, and yes you can book them as an out of state visitor. You can book flights.. nobody's going to ask why you're coming.

Yeah, you've got to wear a mask when you're "in public and can't maintain 6 feet of distance." In practice that means outside some people wear them, some people don't. Some places are definitely more masked up than others. Visit a theme park and mask compliance is nearly 100%. Visit Huntington Beach and it's more like 10%.

Theme Parks without rides are still fun. Check out some of my latest theme park updates... you might enjoy the Knott's Boysenberry Festival.
